Google introduced add-ons for Google Docs and Sheets. These add-ons allow you to add all kinds of functionality to your documents, including track changes, grammar checkers, creating bibliographies, and more. We hope everyone is familiar with the AAL website and the great amount of links for student and staff.
AAL resource page is constantly being updated and we found one more great website. Makers of the Dragon Genetics site that is popular in science classes, but was problematic running on the netbooks/chromebooks. Geniverse is the update site full of stem based activities and resources created to work with the chrome browser and Chromebook. Want to Breed Dragons? Try out their What is Meiosis?
PDF Merge/Split
As we move and live in the cloud, PDF documents are as popular as Google Docs. It would be nice to be able to merge or split PDF documents without having to buy expensive programs. PDF Merger has the easiest process to add files together, just drag and drop, upload from computer, or even Google Drive. PDF Splitter is just as easy. You can grab file from Google Drive and Dropbox. You can select specific pages to split and customize the names as well. There’s even more information about editing PDF documents on our blog. Youtube Embedding
The Tech Leaders are always trying to find solutions for students who want to take their blogs and websites to the next level. Tech Leader Suha explains an embedding trick in this post for those occasions where you want a Youtube video to start up at a specific point in its timeline. It comes in handy when you’re trying to keep your reader’s attention focused.
