Video Tutorials from Our Tech Leaders

In addition to providing technical support to their peers by repairing broken devices and distributing netbooks to new students, the AAL Tech Leaders have been working diligently to exemplify best practices for netbook use.

They've compiled several video tutorial to help their peers overcome some of the common, albeit challenging, hurdles encountered when computing at District 219.

Cloud Printing is a convenient, wireless way to print from a Chromebook, or from any device running Google Chrome. It’s a great way to print from Google Docs, among other things.

Installing Wulfram Alpha Mathmatica Player
Mr. Farhrenbacher (Math, Niles West) and the Tech Leaders have worked together to create a tutorial for Calculus students, demonstrating how to install terminal code to get the Wulfrum CDF player to run in a Linux environment (the backbone of the netbook operating system).

More videos are in the works:Parents - Understanding the Insurance Process; The Value of Google Calendar as a Homework Tracking and Project Management Tool; and many, many more.

Stay tuned for more. In the mean-time, there are plenty of other useful tips on the Tech Leader Notebook blog.

As always, Tech Leaders are available for peer training. If you have students who need a little extra guidance with their devices or with the Google products in particular, please don’t hesitate to ask.
